MidSouth Bank has hired Cynthia Allen as assistant vice president/marketing specialist for its Louisiana and Texas markets.

Allen’s responsibilities include planning and implementing integrated marketing programs to support the bank’s business objectives in both states, said Alex Calicchia, chief marketing officer. She also is in charge of corporate giving for both markets.

A native of Indianapolis, Ind., Allen served as community relations officer at Comerica Bank of Texas for the past five years and prior to that worked as a senior management analyst with the city of Houston – where she was responsible for a $7.5 million operating budget and $3 million capital improvement budget. She also previously worked as a marketing analyst with U.S. Airlines and has experience in strategic planning, as well as coordinating and implementing fund-raising activities for corporate and nonprofit organizations.

Calicchia said most of Allen’s work will be conducted out of MidSouth Bank’s recently opened Houston office.
