Pepper’s Pizzeria/Premier Catering is expected to receive Business of the Year honors Jan. 20 at the Thibodaux Chamber of Commerce’s annual awards banquet.

The organization’s annual event n which will be held at the Warren J. Harang Jr. Municipal Auditorium n recognizes individuals and businesses for outstanding service to the community and to the chamber.


Charter Media is slated to receive the Member of the Year award, according to a chamber release.


The chamber will present the Frank Kennedy Citizen of the Year Award to Ted Hofman, president of Hofman Music and a community activist. The award is designed to pay tribute to an outstanding citizen who excels in contributing the business community, as well as Thibodaux and the surrounding area’s economic development.

E.D. White Catholic High senior Anthony Naquin will be named Teenager of the Year. The award, presented in memory of Norman “Big Boy” Swanner, is given in recognition of the student’s community service, dedication and commitment to education, school pride, leadership abilities and academic achievements. Naquin will receive a $500 cash scholarship from the Swanner Foundation.


Una Rodrigue is slated to receive the C. Lindy and Mary Ann Delaune Hoffman Unsung Hero Award for her outstanding contributions to the musical arts.

Former Louisiana State University basketball coach Dale Brown will deliver the banquet’s keynote address.

The second most-winning coach in SEC history, Brown is the division’s only coach to have appeared in 15 straight national tournaments. He is a member of the state Sports Hall of Fame, state Basketball Coaches Hall of Fame and was inducted as an SEC Living Legend.

Since Brown’s retirement from LSU in 1997, he has authored a memoir, traveled the world as a motivational speaker and is creator of the syndicated radio program “Motivational Moments” on NPR. He has also served as a college basketball analyst for ESPN and ABC. Brown’s speeches before various corporations have earned him the title “America’s Greatest Motivator” and audiences have rated him as “the best in his field.”

Brown is CEO of Dale Brown Enterprises and the Dale Brown Foundation.
