Houma attorney C. Berwick Duval II has been appointed to America’s Wetland Foundation’s board of directors.

According to R. King Milling, chairman of the board for the Foundation, “Berwick represents an area of our coast most significantly impacted by the ravages of coastal Louisiana. He understands both ecological and economic assets of the region and will be a great resource for the board.”

Duval is a partner at Duval, Funderburk, Sundbery, Lovell & Watkins in Houma. Before joining the firm, he was a law clerk for Gordon, Arata, McCollam in New Orleans, an insurance agent with Duval, Whitney, Stevenson Inc., and a real estate broker for Duval Real Estate Inc.

Duval is also active in Terrebonne Parish. He is a member of the Coastal Conservation Association of Louisiana; the executive committee of Restore or Retreat; the Governor’s Advisory Commission on Coastal Protection, Restoration, and Conservation; the Bayou Chapter of Coastal Conservation Association; the governmental affairs committee for the South Central Industrial Association; the Louisiana Disaster Recovery Foundation; and the Houma-Terrebonne Chamber of Commerce. He is also a member of the Louisiana State Bar, the American Bar and the Terrebonne Bar associations.

“The disappearance of Louisiana’s coastal wetlands is an issue that can no longer be ignored,” Duval said. “It is an issue that affects my hometown of Houma, the entire state, as well as the nation and numerous economies supported by Louisiana’s wetlands. I am thrilled to become a part of the America’s Wetland Foundation board of directors to help make a difference in raising awareness of this cause.”
