September 26, 2008Morgan City physician Dr. Melvin Bourgeois has been elected secretary of the 2008-09 board of the Louisiana Academy of Family Physicians (LAFP).
The LAFP represents more than 1,400 family physicians, residents and medical students. Family doctors are trained to the majority of medical problems for patients of all ages and both sexes.
Bourgeois is board certified in family and occupational medicine by the American Board of Medical Specialties. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University of Medicine, and has been in practice for over 40 years.
