Synergy Home Care’s Houma office has been named among the top 25 percent of Medicare-certified home health care providers in the United States.

According to the 2007 HomeCare Elite, an annual review that identifies the Top 100, Top 500 and Top 25 percent of agencies, Synergy’s 303 Gabasse St. site – along with offices in Kenner, Baton Rouge and Plaquemine – are included in the latter category.

“We applaud the success of all the providers named to the 2007 HomeCare Elite”, said Bill Bassett, senior director of market strategy at OCS, Inc. “Being noted as one of the top performers in the nation in this very competitive environment shows that Synergy Home Care is dedicated to quality and performance.”

Agencies are ranked by an analysis of performance measures in quality outcomes, quality improvement and financial performance, according to a news release.

The company’s central and northwestern region officials – which include Marksville, Alexandria, Natchitoches, Coushatta and Shreveport – were named in the Top 100. Synergy’s offices in Hammond, Mandeville, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Jennings and Opelousas were listed in the Top 500.

“Making the 2007 HomeCare Elite is commendable in today’s highly competitive home health care industry,” said Jonathan Stern, Group Publisher of DecisionHealth. “We congratulate Synergy Home Care on being one of the Top 100 best performing home care agencies in the country.”

The only performance recognition of its kind in the home health industry, the 2007 HomeCare Elite is provided by DecisionHealth.

Synergy Home Health Care originated as a single home care entity in Baton Rouge in 1995.

The agency has grown to 17 offices statewide, and is part of the Senior Home Care Network of providers, which operates in Florida.

“We are elated to have made the 2007 HomeCare Elite list,” said Lynne Hebert, chief operating officer of Senior Home Care and its subsidiary, Synergy.

“This honor is one our clinical staff has worked hard to achieve and showcases the level of dedication and professionalism they bring to the industry every day. I’m very proud to work with such a great group of individuals and applaud them for their continued success,” he said.
