Thibodaux Regional Medical Center’s medical staff continues to expand. In recent weeks, six physicians a pain management specialist, radiologist, an ophthalmologist, ear, nose and throat specialist and two orthopaedic surgeons – joined the 185-bed, non-profit, acute care facilities’ active staff.


Brandon S. Brooks, M.D., Jay P. Fakier, M.D., and Satish Arora, M.D., Justin M. Tenney, M.D., David W. Elias, M.D., and Jason A. Higgins, M.D. are the medical center’s latest staff additions.


A pain management specialist, Brooks is the newest member of the Headache & Pain Center, AMC.

After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Brooks performed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and his residency in pharmacy practice at Overton


Brooks Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Shreveport.


He returned to the University of Alabama to complete his fellowship in pain management.

Fakier is also a graduate of the LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport. He performed a general surgery internship at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans and his radiology residency at Texas A&M University Health Science Center Scott and White in Temple, Texas.


Arora has joined the practice of Quentin Falgoust, M.D.

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas in Galveston, and performed his internship in internal medicine at Ochsner Clinic Foundation and his ophthalmology residency at the LSU/Ochsner Residency Program, both of which are in New Orleans.

Arora also completed a retina/vitreous fellowship at LSU Department of Ophthalmology in New Orleans where he trained in all the latest bimanual and small-incision surgical techniques.

Tenney recently joined the staff of Southern ENT Associates, Inc. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, and completed his residency in otolaryngology and general surgery internship there as well.

Elias specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU Health Science Centers in Shreveport, he performed his orthopaedic surgical residency at Campbell Clinic/UT-Memphis. He also completed an orthopaedic sports medicine fellowship at San Diego Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine.

Higgins also specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine. After receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from LSU School of Medicine in Shreveport, he completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Oklahoma Health Science Center in Oklahoma City. He also completed a fellowship in sports medicine at Southern California

Orthopaedic Institute in Los Angeles.

Elias and Higgins specialize in arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip, ankle and elbow.
