A 25-year-old woman reported missing in Lafourche Parish has contacted her family, according to authorities.
Lafourche Sheriff Craig Weber said that Kaitlyn Pinell Matherne contacted a family member on Wednesday morning and told them that she is safe.
Matherne was last seen by family on March 31 at around 11 p.m. in the Meadowland Subdivision in Bayou Blue.
LPSO published a statement on Tuesday night, reporting Matherne as missing. The release got shared thousands of times on social media, spreading awareness of her disappearance.
Webre said Matherne contacted the family member via video chat, and told them that she is OK.
