Tri-parish high school seniors headed to Nicholls State University or L.E. Fletcher Community College this fall or spring could be eligible for a little financial help.

Scholarships valued at $1,000 n $500 for each semester n are being offered for the 2006-2007 fall and spring semesters.

Mike Guidry, SLECA’s general manager, said four $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to help with school expenses. These could range from the cost of tuition, room and board, books or other educational supplies.

“SLECA is proud to offer our young people these scholarships,” Guidry said. “Because these scholarships are an investment in our local students by making quality education more easily accessible and affordable.”
