The 1950 Billy Wilder classic “Sunset Boulevard” will play Saturday at the Bayou Terrebonne Memorial Park. The free show begins at 7 p.m.

Presented as part of the Houma Regional Arts Council’s movie series, the event is open to the public.

Moviegoers are invited to bring lawn-chairs, or plan to sit on the amphitheatre steps.

“Sunset Boulevard” is a 1950 American film noir classic directed and co-written by Wilder. It was named after the famous boulevard of the same name that runs through Los Angeles and Beverly Hills.

The film stars William Holden as a down-on-his-luck screenwriter and Gloria Swanson as Norma Desmond, a faded movie star and femme fatale who entraps Holden’s character into her fantasy world in which she dreams of making a triumphant return to the screen.
