The Terrebonne Parish Department of Planning and Zoning and the Department of Community Development will host a public hearing to discuss and develop eligible project ideas for $76M in Allocation 2 of the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Funds.
There will be an open house from 5:00-6:00 p.m. with a formal meeting following from 6:00-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at The Terrebonne Parish North Brand Library (4130 W. Park Avenue).

“Terrebonne Parish has received a total of $117,627,676 targeted to support economic revitalization and resilient infrastructure. The funds are dispersed over two allocations through the State of Louisiana Office of Community Development from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) CDBG-DR program. The list of projects and the application proposal for Allocation 1 ($41,423,492) are due on January 8, 2024. The list of projects and the application proposal for Allocation 2 ($76,204,184) are due on February 19, 2024,” reads the TPCG Hurricane Ida Recovery website.

 

“These CDBG–DR funds are disbursed among the “most impacted and distressed” (MID) areas across the country for necessary expenses for activities authorized under Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 (42 U.S.C. 5301 et seq.) (HCDA) related to long-term recovery, restoration of infrastructure and economic revitalization, and mitigation resulting from a qualifying major disaster in 2020 or 2021 and must be of benefit to Low to Moderate Income (LMI) households.”
