Houma museum takes flight with new display
April 22, 2010Anthony J. Cangemi, 89, a native and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 9:25 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010.
Mr. Cangemi graduated from Thibodaux College and served in the military during World War II. He was a past District Governor of the Lions Club and a member of the Cardinal Club and American Legion. He was manager of Thibodaux’s Block Furniture Store for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his sisters, Marion Dennis, Nita Serpas and Dr. JoAnn Cangemi; brother, Salvador Cangemi; and a host of other relatives.
He is buried at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Donations to E.D. White High School, St. Genevieve Catholic Church or Manresa Retreat Center, Convent, La. 70723 are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
