Arnold J. Matherne Jr., 63, a native of Raceland, LA., a former resident of New Orleans, LA. for 25 years, and a resident of Slidell, LA., died at 3:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to funeral time Monday at St. Mary’s Nativity Catholic Church in Raceland. Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carol C. Matherne; his mother, Corinne R. Matherne; his mother-in-law Marie Folse Crotwell; one son, Kenneth Ray Matherne and wife, Danielle C. Matherne; two daughters, Cynthia P. Gadonneix and husband, Chris R. Gadonneix, and Lisa M. Duffy and husband, Thomas J. Duffy; one sister, Jean M. Folse; several nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Eric Gadonneix, Melinda Duffy, David Gadonneix and Tyler J. Matherne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arnold J. Matherne Sr.; and his father-in-law, Ray Crotwell.
He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters.
Donations can be made in his name to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for America or the American Cancer Society.
Falgout Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
