Carl Andrew Marcel, 76, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Bayou Vista, La., died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012.


Mr. Marcel was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Church in Bayou Vista. He owned the Yellow Cab company then worked construction and in the oilfield. He served in the Army Reserve, Marine Corps and was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League. He loved volunteering for Toys for Tots.


He is survived by his daughter, Scarlette Marcel; fiancé, Elma Pierce; sisters, Sylvia Matherne, Barbara Sullivan and Lydia Colvin; and brother, Wayne (Rowena) Marcel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee Sr. and Genevieve Marcel; brothers, Lee Jr. and Ronald Marcel; and sisters, Marilyn Falgout and Brenda Robichaux.

Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
