David Marshall Chancy Jr., 68, a native of Franklin, La., and resident of Lafayette, La., died Wednesday, January 23, 2008.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Miller Chancy of Leakesville, Ms.; two sons, Raphael Yen Chancy of Austin, Tx. and Gabriel Charidy Chancy of Houston, Tx.; one daughter, Nathalie Warren Harmon of Lafayette; three sisters, Verna Ann Joswick of Summerville, Tx., Sherry Mae Joswick of Katy, Tx., and Debbie Sue Rodrigues of Maui, Hi; close friend and brother-in-law Morris Greene of Leakesville; and two grandchildren, Adriane Harmon and Matilda Chancy.


David was a retired college professor and a parishioner of St. Gregory Catholic Church.

He was buried in Unity Cemetery in Leakesville.

Freeman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
