Dorothy “Dot” Jean Barrett Glover, 70, a native of Mitchell, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Friday, July 27, 2007, at 12:45 a.m.

She is survived by three sons, Barry Whitten, John Whitten Sr. and his wife Lisa, and Thomas Glover Jr.; two daughters, Ann Whitten and Teresa Domangue and her husband Clint; two sisters, Fay B. Waguespack and Mildred B. Craig; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Glover Sr.; her parents, Worth Lynwood Barrett and Thelma Morris Barrett; and one sister, Helen B. Collier.


Dorothy was a broker since 1964 and co-owner of Four Star Real Estate. She was an active bowler and a past member of the Krewe of Aphrodite. She was a member of the Bayou Board of Realtors, the LA Real Estate Association and National Association of Realtors.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, always giving of herself to her family and friends. She enjoyed sports of all types, especially watching her grandchildren’s games. Her profession was her passion. She always enjoyed the company of clients and never met a stranger. All who knew her, and the many lives she touched will sadly miss her.

Visitation is Monday, July 30, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 31, 2007, from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Chauvin Funeral Home. She will be buried at Terrebonne Memorial Park Cemetery in Houma.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Houma Shiners Club Transportation Fund, P.O. Box 2652, Houma, La. 70361.
