Emily Bourgeois Cheramie, 89, a native of St. Charles, La. and a resident of Golden Meadow, La. died June 6, 2007 at 2:25pm.
She is survived by her husband Luke Cheramie; one son, Mark Cheramie and his wife Debbie; three daughters, Cynthia Guidroz and her husband Freddie, Elizabeth and her husband Larry, and Chris Knobloch and her husband Jim; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Bourgeois, Sr. and Elizabeth Richard Bourgeois; eight brothers, Paul, Noah, Louis, Wilson, Renee, Abel, Blaise, and Charles Bourgeois, Jr.; two sisters, Agnes B. Pitre and Anise B. Foret.
She was a devout Catholic and parishioner at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Golden Meadow. She retired from the Lafourche Parish School System after 32 years of dedicated service.
Emily was a loving Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother.
Visitation is Friday, June 8, 2007 from 9am until 11am with a mass and funeral to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church. Burial to follow at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be given to the St. Joseph Hospice, 905 Canal Blvd. in Thibodaux or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101.
Falgout Funeral Home of Galliano is in charge of the arrangements.
