Frank Calandro Sr., 94, a native of Vicari, Sicily and a resident of Mandeville, La., died Thursday, Oct. 1.


He is survived by one son, Frank L. Calandro Jr. and wife Bobbiek of Mandeville; one daughter, Kathryn E. Inglet of Cyrpress, Texas; one brother, Sam Calandro of Baton Rouge, La.; three sisters, Camille Spitale, Catherine Hoffmann and Rosalie Crawford; three grandchildren, Lydia E. Elich, Christopher E. Calandro and Donald G. Inglet Jr.; and two great-grandchildren, Jack and Sophia Elich; and Jaeger Inglet.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Hargrove Calandro; parents, Catarina Orlando Calandro and Santo Calandro; four brothers, Joe, Vick, Tony and Brazil Calandro; one sister, Mary Inzenga; and one son-in-law, Donald G. Inglet Sr.

He was a graduate of LSU, served in the U.S. Army during World War II in Belgium and Germany, and was retired from La. State Employment Service where he served as manager in Houma in 1981. He was active in the Louisiana Heart Association, Lions Club and many other civic organizations in Houma.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 5, at Chauvin Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at St. Francis No. 2 Cemetery.
