Gerald Paul Hebert, 80, a native of Houma, La., and resident of Lafayette, La., died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2011.


Mr. Hebert was very family-oriented, and was a dedicated and loving, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Not only did he love being a family man, he also enjoyed having big family celebrations. He enjoyed deep sea fishing and hunting in West Texas. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Petroleum Club and a past king of the Townhouse Krewe of Troubadours.

He is survived by his wife, Jacklyn Achee’ Hebert; daughters, Wanda Pelarski and Amy Dworniczak; sons, Mark, Andre and Gerald Jr. Hebert; 13 grandchildren, Mark, Christopher, Matthew, Anthony, Katie, Ashley and Andre Hebert, Elizabeth Hingley, and Hannah, Natalie, Olivia, Sophia and Genevieve Dworniczak; seven great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Mark, Ethan, Avery, Hudson, Kelsey and Andre Hebert; and brother, Kermit Hebert.


He was preceded in death by his parents, J.F. Hebert and the former Pearl King; and one brother, Kennith Hebert.


Giftbearers were Genevieve, Olivia and Sophia Dworniczak. Lectors were Hannah and Natalie Dworniczak. Eulogist was Andre’ Hebert. Jodi Bollich, organist, sang for the services.

Pallbearers were Mark Jr., Christopher, Mathew, Anthony, Ashley and Andre’ Jr. Hebert.

Honorary Pallbearers were Paul Hebert, Joe Dworrniczak III, Mark Hebert Sr. and Andre’ Hebert Sr.
