Harold P. Ougel, 78, a native and resident of LaRose, La. died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at 4:55pm.


He is survived by his wife, Wildred Punch Ougel; two sons, Kirk, K. and his wife Kathy, and Ted Ougel; two daughters, Myra Ougel, and Deborah O. Griffin and her husband Jason, Jr.; one brother, Nolan Ougel; two sisters, Agnus Prosser and Della Morrison; four grandchildren, Colin, Lauren, and Erin Theriot, and Reggie Ougel; three step-grandchildren and five great step-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Mathilde Adams Ougel; four brothers, Cleveland, Warren, Ulysse, and Tony Ougel; one sister, Julia Genusa.

Harold was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of our Lady of the Rosary Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served is country during the Korean War. Harold was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion: Holy Name Society. He was tireless volunteer for Holy Rosary Church, Holy Rosary School, the LaRose Civic Center, and V.F.W Fairs.

Harold was a devoted husband to his wife Wildred for 50 years. He was a dedicated son, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Visitation is Friday, June 22, 2007 from 10:00am until 2:00pm at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in LaRose, La. with the funeral to follow. He will be buried at Our Lady of the Rosary Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of the arrangements.
