Herman “Manny” Dufren, 83, a native of Galliano, La. and a resident of Cut Off, La. died Tuesday, October 16, 2007, at 3:17 p.m.
He is survived by his care-giver, Barbara “Bobbie” Chabert; his son, John Dufren and his wife Kellie; two brothers, Harvey and Harris Dufren; one sister, Peggy Charpentier; five grandchildren, Christopher Collins, Kelly Landry, Caleb Dufren, Kyle Dufren, and Jovi Dufren; and two great-grandchildren, Ethyn Collins and Andris Terrebonne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edris Pinel Dufren; his parents, Orest and Alcida Autin Dufren; one son, Marty Dufren; one daughter, Anne Kieff; two brothers, Howell and Henry Dufren; and one sister Gernice Bruce.
Herman was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member of the American Legion, Green Head Club, and the Cut Off Fishing Club.
Visitation is Thursday, October 18, 2007, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with the funeral to follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off. He will be buried in the church cemetery.
