Horace John Trahan, 96, a native of Chauvin, La., and resident of Houma, La., died Thursday, May 15, 2014.

Mr. Trahan was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He retired from Cenac Towing Company after 25 years of service.

He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Sr., Horace, Morris and Richard Trahan; daughters, Judy (David) and Barbara Naquin; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Trahan; parents, Luma and Augustine Trahan; brothers, Morris, Levis, Davis and Nicholas Trahan; and sisters, Rosalie Gautreaux, Rebecca Leboeuf and Doris Bergeron.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 19, at Chauvin Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church with burial to follow at the church cemetery. (Chauvin)
