Irene Martin Samanie, 84, a native of Chauvin, La. and resident of Houma, La. died Monday, October 15, 2007, at 9:45 a.m.
She is survived by her son, Russell Samanie, Sr.; one sister, Elizabeth Louviere; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Samanie; her second husband, Gordon Samanie; her parents, Linesey and Viola Authement Martin; one son, Richard Samanie; five brothers, Allen, Irvin, Ira, Linesey, Martin, and Eddie Dupre; and four sisters, Mildred McElroy, Theresa Dupre, Oriana White, and Orena Lirette.
The funeral will be held Sunday, November 11, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church.
Samart Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
