Lula Marie Franklin Leggett, 50, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Schriever, La., died Wednesday July 29.


She is survived by her husband, Richard Leggett Sr.; mother, Rosedell Jackson Franklin; one son, Richard Leggett Jr. and wife Kajumi; two daughters, Joni Renee’ Leggett and Lashawnna Leggett and fiance’ Alvin; two brothers, Kerry Franklin and wife Amanda, and Terry Franklin and wife Cynthia; two sisters, Regina Franklin and Mary Ann Rilesand three grandchildren, Richard Leggett III, Lawyer Lavar Leggett and Kionte Alicia Leggett.


She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lee Franklin; two brothers, Willie Lee Franklin Jr. and Kenny Franklin, Sr.; grandparents, Albertha Calloway, and Euarl and Lula Matthews; one nephew, Kenny Franklin Jr.; and mother-in-law, Ruby Walker.

She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was a cheerleader coach for Schriever Stars & 4-H. She loved the Dallas Cowboys and planting flowers. She was employed by Terrebonne General Medical Center for 14 years as a CNA.

Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, August 3, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Gray, La., with the funeral service to follow. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
