Maria Giammancheri, 81, a native of Palermo, Sicily, and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Antonino Giammancheri; children, Anna Baradell and Sal,
Tina and Joseph (Michelle) Giammancheri; brother, Pino Contorno; sister, Paola Mirabile; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Salvatore and Gaetana Contorno; brothers, Salvatore, Vincent and Gino Contorno; and sisters, Rosa Shanna and Ninetta Farace.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, at Thibodaux Funeral Home and 8 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Thibodaux)
