Michael Christopher Voisin, 59, a native of Los Angeles and resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2013.


Mr. Voisin was the owner and CEO of Motivatit Seafoods. His dedication to Louisiana was evident throughout his career with extensive legislative work for the gulf coast and national seafood industry. He led a dedicated life shown through his service to his family, community and church. He was a loving, dedicated, loyal, honest, fair and kind-hearted man and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Sarah Voisin; sons, Kevin (Whitney) and Gregory (Jennifer) Voisin and Terrance (Brittany) Conrad; daughters, Amy (Marcelo) Ascua, Sally (Jason) Gilfour and Sandy (Brett) Naquin; brother, Steven (Alicia) Voisin; sisters, Saundra (Bill) Fitzgerald and Lorena Voisin; and numerous grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Mary Voisin; and brother, Gregory Voisin.

Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Chauvin Funeral Home and 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Living Word Church on Hwy 311 with services to follow. Burial will be at St. Eloi Catholic Church Cemetery. (Chauvin)

Mike Voisin, CEO of Motivatit Seafood in Houma, is being remembered for his work founding the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board. He died Saturday surrounded by family and friends at Terrebonne General Medical Center.
