Matilda “Tee” Aloisio, 90, a native and resident of Patterson, La., died Monday, June 4, 2012.


Ms. Aloisio aided in the war effort by working as a welder for Chicago Bridge and Iron in Morgan City, La. She built and owned her own rental properties and ran a gas station, taxi service, ice cream and snowball truck and grass cutting service. She was a Patterson Town Council alderman and was the first woman to serve on the St. Mary Parish Police Jury. She was awarded a Carnegie Hero Award after rescuing a city gas worker from a fire in Patterson. She was a hard worker with a kind soul and was known for her acts of kindness.


She is survived by her sisters, Rosemary Cutrera and Catherine Piro; and brothers, Guy (Wanda), Rosario (Frances) and Jimmie (Verdie) Aloisio.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Rosario Sr. and Maria Aloisio; sisters, Anna Rizzuto, Angelina Gianfala, Jennie Tringali and Josie Stansbury; and brother, Leonard Aloisio.

Burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery. (Ibert’s)
