Olivia J. Castle, 72, a native of Terrebonne Parish, La., and a resident of Houma, La., died Saturday, July 25.
She is survived by two sons, Glenn Short Sr. and wife Zeboria of Gibson, La., and Dave Castle and wife Sandra of Houma; four daughters, Millie Davis, Helen Moses and husband Kirby, Nancy Howard and husband Ronald Howard Sr., and Anglea Rainey and husband Ronald Rainey Sr.; four brothers, William Miller and Jake Johnson both of Houma, Louis Johnson and Henry Johnson both, of New Orleans, La.; six sisters, Mary Lee Johnson of Gray, La., Vergie Walker, Dollie Petit, Gail Diggs, Ella Mae Washington, all of New Orleans, and Calidonia Williams of Gibson; 21 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Castle; parents, Thomas Johnson Sr. and Celestine Miller Johnson; one son, Herbert Castle; two brothers, Thomas Johnson Jr. and Robert Win; and two sisters, Josephine Johnson and Mable Thomas.
She was a Baptist and a member of New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, July 31, at Community Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at New St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with burial at the church cemetery.
Community Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
