Robert “Bobby” (BBY) R. Bourg Sr., 68, a native of Lockport, La., and a resident of Hahnville, La., was entrusted to God’s loving care at East Jefferson Hospital in Metairie Friday, Oct. 16.
He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Birdsall Bourg of Hahnville; one son, Robert “Robby” R. Bourg Jr. of Gray, La.; one daughter, Tiffany Bourg Adams and husband Brent of Houma, La.; three stepsons, Jason Moesta and wife Felicia of Friendswood, Texas, Billy Gravois and Michael Gravois and wife Courtney, all of Harahan, La.; three brothers, Sidney Bourg III of Houma, Raleigh of Kenner, La., and Charles “Chunky” of Gray; two sisters, Marilyn Moore of Houma, and Carrie Ann Fitch of Simonton, Texas; two grandchildren, Bryce and Morgan Adams of Houma; and two step-grandchildren, Madilyn Gravois of Harahan, and William Moesta of Friendswood.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Emily Adams Bourg Jr.
He was an employee of Ambar Lonestar of Lafayette, La. BBY had a successful lifelong career in the oilfield industry. He was the owner of BBY Marina in Leeville, La., and the founder of the Creole Classic which recently celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at Holy Savior Catholic Church in Lockport with mass to follow. Interment will be at the church cemetery.
