Silas “Griff” Griffin Jr., a native of Golden Meadow, La., and resident of Cut Off, La., died at 12:17 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010.

Mr. Griffin was a parishioner of Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church and a life member of the DAV and Senior Vice Commander for Chap. 9. He was a veteran of the Army and served in Germany during World War II. He loved fishing, dancing, was a jokester and jack-of-all-trades and will be greatly missed by his family.


He is survived by four grandchildren, Jason (Norma) Lefort, Cassie (Dexter) Gaspard, Denna (Timmy) Guidry and Danae (Tony) Guidry; six great-grandchildren; and one daughter, Shelly (Phillip) Doucet.

Mr. Griffin is buried at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church Cemetery.
