Stanley P. Breaux Sr., 89, a native of Bayou Gauche, La., and resident of Gheens, La., died Monday, April 1, 2013.
Mr. Breaux was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a past president of the VFW and a member of the American Legion. He was an avid fan of Central Lafourche High School, LSU and the Saints.
He is survived by his sons, Morris (Cathi) Griffin and Michael (Marie) and Stan Jr. (Ruth) Breaux; daughters, Patsy (Gerald) Ford, Joyce Chauvin, Marylyn (Keith) Legendre, Carolyn (Reed) Toups, Debra (Chet) Terrebonne and Angie (Tommy) Pertuit; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertie Breaux; parents, Joseph and Bertha Breaux; brothers, Irby, Noah, Alex and Earl Breaux; sister, Anna Matherne; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 10 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at Falgout Funeral Home in Raceland, La., and 8 to 11 a.m. Friday, April 5, at United Memorial Methodist Church in Mathews, La., with services to follow. Burial will be at Barrios Cemetery in Valentine, La. (Falgout)
