Tilden “Ba-Ba” Billiot Sr., 65, a native of Golden Meadow, La., and a resident of Tylertown, Ms., died Tuesday, January 6.


He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Glenda B. Billiot; sons, Tilden Billiot Jr. and wife Vicki, Jackie Bergeron and wife Holly, and Mark Billiot and wife Lydia; stepsons, Ernest Plaisance Jr. and wife Connie, Andrew “Andy” Dupre and Shane Dupre and wife Angela; stepdaughters, Tammy Plaisance, Melinda Dupre and Maureen Dupre and partner Laurie; brothers, Manson, Maurice and Davis Billiot; sisters, Edith Wainwright, Gloria Chaisson, Ollie Verdin and Ann LeBlanc; 23 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Oxcila Verdin Billiot; brother, Antoine “Sam” Billiot; and sister, Gladys Billiot.

He was a member of the Chitimacha Tribe.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, at Christian Family Center in Galliano, La., with a religious service to follow. Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery.

Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off, La., is in charge of the arrangements.
