May 7, 2014Uranie Lena Hidalgo Sonier, 97, a native of Labadieville, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died Tuesday, April 15, 2014.
She is survived by her sons, Lynn and Nelson Jr. Sonier; brother, Joseph Hidalgo; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Sonier; parents, Paul and Estelle Hidalgo; son, Clay Sonier; and siblings, Alcide, Alcee, Hypolite, Paul, Marie, Joseph and Marie Hidalgo, Medora Himel, Agatha Martinez, Estella Boudreaux and Rita Bilello.
Visitation will be 8:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 21, at St. Joseph Co-Cathedral with Mass of Christian Burial to follow. Burial will be at St. Bridget Cemetery in Schriever, La. (Thibodaux)
