Viola White

Viola Domangue Duplantis White, 65, a native of Bourg, LA. and resident of Chauvin, LA., died at 1:57 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007.

Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. funeral time, in which a mass will be held, Monday, March 19, 2007 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her husband, Hewitt White of Chauvin; one son, Jessie White of Chauvin; two daughters, Sadie Luke and husband, Lane, of Bayou Blue, LA. and Suzette LaFont and husband, Wallace Sr., of Montegut, LA.; one brother, Lawrence Domangue and wife, Geraldine, of Montegut; one sister, Adrianne Picou and husband, Lawrence, of Bourg; two grandsons, Wallace LaFont Jr. and Michael LaFont; one granddaughter, Hannah Luke; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, John George Duplantis; her parents, Oleus and Sadie Foret Domangue; and one daughter, Michelle Duplantis.

She was a life-long homemaker and dedicated and loving wife and mother.

She was a past member of the Ladies Altar Society and a dedicated Lagniappe Fair worker for 20 years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Chauvin Funeral Home in Houma is in charge of the arrangements.
