Dr. William E. Barletta Sr., 89, a native of New Orleans, La., and resident of Thibodaux, La., died at 1:46 P.M. Monday, Aug. 8, 2011.
Dr. Barletta shared his passion and talent for dentistry by proudly serving Thibodaux and Morgan City for more than 65 years. He served on the Bayou Board of Dentistry, LDA, ADA and many others. The gift that he was given by God was his hands and he shared that gift with many people in the community for many years. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Barletta; children, William Jr. (Debbie), Joseph (Shannon), Michael, Mario and Carlos Barletta, Lisa (Will) Dodds, Katherine (Frank) DiStefano, Angela (James) Graver and Carmen (Matt) Munier; stepchildren, Shane (Veronica) Gonzales, Cindy (Nathan) Oubre and Kim (Terry) Ledet; sister, Anita Gillespie; 28 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine Barlett-Paz; father, Dr. Constantino Barletta-Paz; and brother, Dr. Frank Barletta-Paz.
