Wilton Joseph Autin Sr., 80, a native of Little Calliou, La., and resident of Amelia, La., died Sunday, August 7, 2011.

Mr. Autin grew up hunting, fishing, trapping, gator hunting and was a boat pilot. He was a joy to be around and loved telling stories of his life. He was also Paw Paw to many other children who came in and out of his life. They loved him dearly. He taught many things to all who came into his life over the years and for that he was well respected.


He is survived by his sons, Benny and Wilton Jr. (Gerry) Autin; daughter, Lela (Terry) McMichael; nine grandchildren, Benjy and Bruce Autin, Sabrina Voisin, Kendra Foret, George Boutwell, Amy Hampton, Renaee Pacheco, Dez VanHella and T.J. McMichael; 14 great-grandchildren, Caleb, Bailee, Micaela, Ashley, Harley, Madison, Faith, Bryce, George, Cierra, Miraih, R.J., Kallie and Erich; and sisters, Lucy (Johnny) Tabor, Shirley (Cleveland) Ohmer, Helen Faye (Alan) Benoit, Loretta Tabor, Lona Pennison and Geneva (Huey Sr.) Ohmer.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, Benjamin and Gertrude Autin; and son, Philip Autin. (Twin City)
