Barbara Frances Boudreaux, 91, a native and resident of Houma, passed away on Saturday, January 15, 2022.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 24, 2022, at Samart Funeral Home on West Park from 10:00 am until the Funeral Service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Gray.

She is survived by her sons, Gerrith (Phyllis) Boudreaux, Jr., Kim (Fran) Boudreaux, David (Christy) Boudreaux, and Dale (Brandy) Boudreaux; daughters, Kay (Andrew) Williams, Bonnie Dubois, and Sue Ellen Boudreaux; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerrith Boudreaux, Sr.; parents, Otto Dugas and Leafy Bonvillian Dugas; brother, Vet Dugas; and granddaughter, Eve Boudreaux.

Barbara was a loving wife of many years and selflessly fostered 11 children and adopted one son. Becoming a widow at an early age, she put herself through Nicholls State University College, where she earned a degree as a registered Dietician. She was employed at Chabert Medical Center for approximately 20 years. Barbara generously cared for children who were less fortunate in her neighborhood. Later in life, she continued caring for others by home-sitting for the elderly for many years. Barbara enjoyed gatherings at the Terrebonne Council on Aging Senior Citizen Center, playing cards, bingo, and was an avid puzzle maker. Her infectious laugh and big heart will be greatly missed.
