Edward L. “Eddie” Evans, 65, a native and resident of Houma, LA passed away on January 1, 2024.

He is survived by his companion of 2 years, Paula Johnson; siblings, Elizabeth Collier and husband, James, Maurice Evans and wife, Shanie, Tammy Sanchez and husband, Ramiro, and Virginia Evans and husband, Clay Aloy; nieces, Dawn, Katina and husband, Ronnie, Terra and husband, Philip; and nephews, Drew Jr. and wife, Dalayne, and Timmy Jr. and wife, Telisha; 12 great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great niece; 1 great-great nephew; 5 aunts and 2 uncles.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Sylvia Ledet Evans; niece, Tanya Ricketts; companion of 20 years, Belinda Pellegrin; grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.


Eddie was a loving man, who made friends easily. He really loved his dog Buddy and cared for him up until his illness would not allow him. He cared for his trucks keeping them spotless and road ready. He enjoyed working on others’ vehicles as an oil technician at the Super Quick Lube. He also volunteered with the Bayou Cane Fire Department for many years when he was a young man. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Bernadette for many years. He will be missed by all that knew him, especially his family.
