John Daniel Ledet, 66, a native of Chauvin and resident of Houma, passed away on December 30, 2023.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 9am to 11am, with the Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11am, at St. Francis de Sales Church. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery.
He is survived by his loving partner, R. J. Duplantis; father, Ivan “Johnny” Sylvestor Ledet; Godchildren, Lee Ledet, Celeste Ledet Metzger, and Shelby Ledet; brothers, Billy Ledet and wife, Shirlene, Thomas Ledet and wife Sheila, and Michael Ledet and wife Melisa; sister, Patricia Ledet Rodrigue and husband Craig Rodrigue; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Etta Robichaux Ledet; and nephew, Reed Thomas Ledet.
John was a man with many hats. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 7355. He worked different jobs over the years including AT&T, Executive Video in Chauvin, but for many years he worked at the DMV. He was well known in the community as a wonderful man. You could always find him smiling and willing to lend a helpful hand. In his spare time, he loved being with his family and his beloved dogs, Bentley and Baxter. He was a loving partner, son, and brother, who was loved by his family and all of the many friends he had. He will be missed dearly but never forgotten.
