Sam Salvadore Pizzolato II, age 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. He was a native and resident of Houma, LA.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Chauvin Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. and at St. Francis de Sales Cathedral at noon. Burial will be held in St. Francis de Sales #2 Cemetery.

Sam is survived by his wife of 50 years, Susan Mary Authement Pizzolato; sons, Dr. Gregory A. Pizzolato and wife, Renee Burns, Chad M. Pizzolato and wife, Kelly Giordano  and Kevin P. Pizzolato and wife, Tricia Jett; daughter, Tammy P. Songy and husband, Barry Jr.; sisters Joan Rodrigue and husband, Val, Diane Pierce, Annette Rembert and husband, Ken, and Sandra Bergeron and husband, Jerry Sr.; grandchildren, Zachary Pizzolato, Kaitlyn Oeser, Cullen Songy, Avery  Songy, Lucia Pizzolato, Aida Pizzolato, Sam Pizzolato, and Ryan Pizzolato.

Sam is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Salvadore and Mabel Marie Theresa Donnaud Ayo Pizzolato; in laws, Norman and Marlene Richard Authement; brothers-in-law, Raymond Pierce, Michael Martin and Richard Authement.

Sam was a parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Cathedral where he served as an usher. He was a graduate of Vandebilt Catholic High. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His grandchildren and faithful dogs were his pride and joy. He was self-employed with Sammy’s Automotive and Towing. He was a previous world champion of the NHRA. He was a member of the LA Tarpon Club, Antiques Car Club of Houma, Blue Knights, long time member of the Krewe of Houmas. Sam enjoyed racing and collecting cars, tarpon fishing, and meeting daily with his lunch crew. He never met a stranger and always had a story. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales and Vandebilt Catholic High.
