GREG STUDRAWA NAMED OFFENSIVE LINE COACH

Greg Studrawa, who served as the offensive coordinator at Bowling Green for the past four years, has been named the offensive line coach at LSU.

Studrawa replaces Stacey Searels, who resigned earlier this month to take a position at Georgia.

Studrawa served as the offensive coordinator at Bowling Green from 2003-2006, guiding the Falcons to some of the top offenses at both the national and Mid-America Conference level during that time.

Studrawa served as the offensive line coach at Bowling Green in 2001 and 2002 before being elevated to the offensive coordinator position in 2003. Prior to his return to Bowling Green, he spent three years as the offensive line coach at Arkansas State. Other coaching stops for Studrawa include serving as an offensive line coach at Cincinnati in 1989 and 1990 as well as holding offensive coordinator duties at Wilmington (Ohio) College from 1991-96. He followed that with a one year stint as a graduate assistant at Ohio State in 1997.

As a player, Studrawa was a two-year starter at left tackle for Bowling Green in 1986 and 1987. Studrawa is a 1987 graduate of Bowling Green.

A native of Fostoria, Ohio, he is a graduate of St. Wendelin High School where he was a First-Team All-Ohio selection as a senior.

LSU RANKS SIXTH IN HOME FOOTBALL ATTENDANCE

The LSU football team ranked sixth in the nation in average home attendance during the 2006 season. LSU averaged a school-record 92,212 fans for its eight homes games during the 2006 season. LSU posted an 8-0 mark at home for the first time in school history as the Tiger ran their Tiger Stadium winning streak to 13 straight.

The 92,212 per game average in 2006 continued a trend that has seen the Tigers break the school record in average attendance for four straight years. In 2005, LSU averaged 91,580 fans for its six home games, which was up from 91,209 from the 2004 season. For the year, LSU drew a total of 737,696 fans to Tiger Stadium in 2006, also a school record. The previous mark for total fans during a season came in 2004 when the Tigers played before a total of 638,462 in their seven home games.

LSU’s top home crowd in 2006 came against Alabama when 92,588 fans turned out to see the Tigers post a 28-14 win over the Crimson Tide. The 92,588 figure ranks as the second-highest total in school history, trailing the 92,664 fans for the Auburn game in 2005.

In all, LSU had five of the top-10 Tiger Stadium crowds of all time in 2006, which included 92,449 against Ole Miss and 92,362 against Louisiana-Lafayette, which also ranked as the largest season-opening turnout in school history.

In two years under head coach Les Miles, the Tigers have posted a 13-1 mark at home and they have played before crowds of 92,000 or better eight times.

DOUBLES TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIP

The doubles team of Danny Bryan and Colt Gaston defeated Georgia’s John Isner and Josh Varela in the doubles final at the SEC Coaches Indoor Championships at Rivercenter Racquet and Health Club on Sunday in New Orleans. The Tiger tandem went 4-0 during the tournament to claim the doubles crown.

The next time the Tigers will be in action is when they open the duel season against Southern on Feb. 9 at LSU’s W.T. “Dub” Robinson Stadium on the campus of LSU.
