Week 6 news and notes in the Tri-parishes:

3: The number of points Patterson’s first string defense has allowed this season. The Jacks pitched their third shutout in seven games in a 61-0 win against Jeanerette.

3: The number of consecutive wins Terrebonne has earned following Friday’s shutout over rival H.L. Bourgeois. The defending Bayou District champions have rebounded from an 0-2 district start with the three-straight wins.

109: The total points South Terrebonne’s offense has scored in games following losses this season. The Gators followed a loss to East Jefferson on Sept. 29 with a 60-6 win against Vandebilt. Following a loss to Assumption, South Terrebonne again rebounded, pounding Morgan City 49-14.

SportsNet Jamboree week Players of the Week:

Bronze: Vandebilt Catholic defense. The Terriers weren’t able to pull off the upset Friday against unbeaten Assumption, but the Vandebilt defense did its school proud on homecoming, holding acclaimed Assumption quarterback Hunter Gauthreaux to just 5-of-14 passing for 50 yards.

Silver: Terrebonne quarterback Kendrick Boudreaux. With hated rival H.L. Bourgeois on the schedule, the Tigers’ quarterback stepped up large, completing 13-of-23 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown. Boudreaux also rushed for a score in the shutout win.

Gold: South Lafourche quarterback Seth Griffin, halfback Bruce Lee and defensive lineman Maxx Smith. It’s hard to distinguish one from the other, because they are all deserving. Griffin threw a touchdown pass, rushed for a touchdown and also had a touchdown reception in the team’s win. Lee was just as vital, carrying the ball just three times, but accumulating 133 yards and two touchdowns. Smith did his part getting the ball back to his offense, recovering a fumble and also returning an interception for a touchdown in Big Blue’s 47-7 thrashing of rival Central Lafourche.

The Super 6 Preseason Power Rankings (ranking Casey Gisclair’s six best Tri-parish teams):

1. Patterson. The Lumberjacks continue their demolition derby, scoring another rout, this time marking their first 60-point win of the year. Offense, defense, special teams … is there anything this team can’t do?

2. Central Catholic. Since losing to Northlake Christian on Sept. 23, Central Catholic has outscored its opponents 188-12. That’s a pretty sure sign the loss refocused the team in its quest to go to the Superdome.

3. South Terrebonne. The Gators virtually clinched second place in District 8-4A with a blowout win over upstart Morgan City. The Gators need to keep moving forward in the final two weeks to try and secure as many power points as it can before the playoffs.

4. South Lafourche. The Tarpons will probably miss the playoffs by a half a yard. The team lost a fumble on the goal line to lose a non-district game with Plaquemine. That will likely cost the team a 6-4 season and could cost the team a spot in the Field of 32. When clicking, these guys are a force to be reckoned with.

5. Terrebonne. Terrebonne lost a lot of players off last year’s district title team. But Tigers coach Gary Hill is one of the best in the area and one knew they’d rebound eventually. After a slow start, Terrebonne is finishing 2011 strong.

6. Morgan City. The Tigers just aren’t quite ready for the big-time competition in its district. But that doesn’t mean Morgan City has any reason to hang its head. This is the best season the program has had in years and there’s still a very good chance the team can play itself into the playoffs.
