Deer and turkey tags may only be used by the hunter to whom the tag was issued. Hunters who allow their tags to be used by another person, or who use tags issued to another person, are in violation of the new rule and are subject to fines.

The 2024 contest will be restricted to designs with ruddy duck(s) as the focal species. Artists are reminded of the requirement for associated habitat representative of Louisiana wetlands.  An additional reminder to artists: It is extremely uncommon for ruddy ducks wintering in Louisiana to have their full alternate breeding plumage.

LDWF is conducting a survey on Red Drum (redfish) management options prior to presenting recommendations to the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries Commission (LWFC). This survey is an additional effort to collect public input on management options
