Nicholls’ most popular undergraduate majors for spring 2024 include nursing, business administration, allied health sciences, psychology and biological sciences. The most popular programs at the graduate level are nursing, clinical mental health counseling and business administration.

ConocoPhillips has contributed $150,000 to the Coastal Center at Nicholls State University for its exhibit space. This space will house educational exhibits focused on coastal and climate challenges together with coastal solutions and success stories to provide critical learning opportunities for students, adults and tourists visiting the Coastal Center. 

Nicholls Mass Communication Department has selected nine students to be part of the Nancy Sanderson Matherne Institute for Global Communication in its initial year. These candidates are participating in an international public relations campaign for the Cross River Gorilla Project  – a group focused on protecting Cross River gorillas in Cameroon.
